This project was envisioned by Rick Markum and the interior design team at DAVIS. During his tenure at DAVIS, Rick championed the efforts of their "reform" group which focused on the repurposing and repositioning of existing real estate assets between 2002 and 2010, prior to this type of work receiving much attention in the Greater Phoenix metro area.

This particular study was done for a local business owner to determine the feasibility of relocating an orthotic medical office with some light manufacturing, into an existing automotive repair shop with an adjacent storage/shop building. Although the design and site layout met all of the criteria for a successful retrofit, the business owner ultimately relocated to another site which better suited their very unique needs.
