SkySong was developed through a partnership between Arizona State University (ASU), The City of Scottsdale and The Plaza Companies. While employed at DAVIS, Rick Markum worked with the development team to create the Comprehensive Sign Program for the project, including the design of all of the primary site signage and the establishment of the design criteria for future site and building mounted signage for future phases of the project.

While projects with multiple partners can often present additional challenges for the design and approval process, the SkySong signage package recieved unanimous approval from the stakeholders through each stage of the design process and was approved by The City of Scottsdale's Design Review Board with only minimal comments and stipulations.
