U-Haul © International - Print Design & Illustration

In 1993 Rick Markum moved to Phoenix, Arizona and began working at U-Haul International. In his early years with the company, Rick was the primary in-house illustrator, creating automotive illustrations of the company's fleet vehicles as well as a whole host of graphics related to the moving, storage and vehicle tow hitch business.

In the mid 90s, U-Haul hired an in-house airbrush artist to expand the vehicle super graphics program. Rick Markum worked with the artist to train him on Adobe Illustrator, so all of the new vehicle graphics could be generated as vector formatted graphics. Rick worked jointly with the digital artist in training to create the first original Mars rover vehicle graphic supergraphic for the new series. Rick continued to assist with the new supergraphic series for the next few graphics in the series, and eontinue to support the efforts of the supergraphic program for the remainder of his time with U-Haul.
